Position: Business Development Manager (Apprenticeships)

We’re partnering with an ambitious, growing apprenticeship provider that’s investing heavily in its commercial team. They’re looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager who enjoys autonomy, thrives on targets, and wants their success to directly translate into earnings.

This is not a slow, over-managed sales role. It’s a chance to take ownership, move quickly, and build something meaningful — while helping employers across England develop their people through apprenticeships.

You’ll be responsible for generating new apprenticeship starts by engaging employers who want to upskill their workforce — and by creating opportunities for new learners to enter employment.

You’ll manage your own pipeline, build long-term employer relationships, and use a mix of outreach, networking, referrals, and creativity to hit (and exceed) monthly targets.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders, but day-to-day you’ll have the freedom to run your desk like your own business.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of employer partners.
  • Identifying organisations with staff suitable for apprenticeship programmes.
  • Creating new apprenticeship starts through proactive business development.
  • Matching unemployed learners with suitable employers where appropriate.
  • Using phone, digital outreach, databases and referrals to generate leads.
  • Managing CRM activity and tracking your performance against targets.
  • Representing the organisation professionally with employers and stakeholders.
