Uddingston Emtec Building Services is a leading M&E contractor delivering end-to-end mechanical and electrical solutions across commercial, industrial and public sector projects. Were looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Building Services team in Uddingston, supporting the commercial delivery of a range of mechanical and electrical projects across Scotland. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take on more commercial responsibility, or an established Senior QS looking for their next move within a growing M&E business.
What Youll Be Doing Taking commercial ownership of your projects and helping drive them towards a successful outcome. Working closely with project teams to keep a firm handle on costs, value, cash flow and commercial performance. Managing applications for payment, variations and final accounts. Providing practical contractual advice and helping the team navigate commercial issues as they arise. Managing subcontractor accounts, from agreeing terms through to payments and variations.
Producing monthly cost and value reports and contributing to project reviews and forecasts. Spotting commercial risks and opportunities early and making sure theyre properly managed. What Youll Bring Were looking for someone with strong commercial experience within MEP, building Services or a similar construction environment. Youll be commercially aware, practical, and confident taking ownership, with the ability to build strong relationships with project teams, clients and subcontractors.
Relevant Quantity Surveying experience, ideally at Senior level or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready for the next step. Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes. Familiarity with the Construction Act and standard forms of contract including SBCC and NEC Strong numerical, communication, negotiation and organisational skills. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred. Membership of RICS, CIOB or CICES would be advantageous.
