About You:

Looking to be an integral part of an amazing team, have your voice heard, and feel like you belong?

DFYNE may be the place for you.

About DFYNE:

A picture paints a thousand words… and we’re sure you don’t want to be sat here reading an essay of corporate “about us” spiel…. Seriously, how’re you able to really get under the skin of what we’re about from a few words on a screen. So why don’t you have a look and see what we’re all about for yourself  .

About

the role - DFYNE Your Career:

First off, it’s best I introduce myself (person behind the keyboard here). It's not the norm on a job role spec, but I feel it’s important for this one in particular. I’m Oscar, the CEO and Founder here at DFYNE.

We're looking for a Photography Team Lead to run our entire photography team. You'll be an exceptional photographer yourself, the person the team learns from, and you'll run the team day to day, from planning and people to budgets, bookings and admin. You'll be hands on shooting key work yourself while making the whole team better. You'll report to Sean, our Head of Creative, and work with him closely turning the creative direction and launch calendar into a plan the team can deliver, and making sure every drop has the content it needs before it's needed.

This is a new role, there is no Photography Team Lead today, so you'll set up the guidelines, workflows and team structure from the ground up.

Trustworthy

Proactive and efficient

Calm under pressure

Reliable and responsive

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the team

Manage, coach and develop photographers, 1:1s, feedback, reviews, training plans.

Set clear expectations for quality and output.

Build a culture of high standards, ownership and continuous improvement.

Deal with performance issues fairly and early.

Manage studio bookings, kit inventory, repairs and insurance.

Keep health and safety on set and in the studio up to standard.

Report regularly to the Head of Creative on output, spend, risks and upcoming needs.

Write and maintain shooting guidelines for every product type and channel.

Run regular quality checks. Spot and fix inconsistency across photographers and sets.

Own colour accuracy across the studio, from capture to final output.

Be the technical expert the team turns to for difficult products and lighting.

Own output and workflow

Plan studio schedules and ensure launch deadlines are met.

Track KPIs, images per day, first time right rate, retouch time per image and turnaround time.

Keep the team current on kit, techniques and industry trends.

Plan ahead with the Head of Creative

Work closely with Sean, Head of Creative, on the content calendar, briefs and visual direction.

Anticipate upcoming drops and launches early, and flag which need extra content (campaign, on-model, detail, social) weeks before they become urgent.

Divide the workload across the team: assign shoots, sets and people by skill, capacity and deadline, and rebalance when priorities change

Shoot campaigns

Plan and shoot campaign and lifestyle imagery for drops, from brief and mood-board to final selects.

Run campaign logistics with the creative team. Shot lists, call sheets, locations, models and budgets.

Own the assets

Own every image and video asset from capture to live. Naming, storage, backup and archiving.

Keep the asset library organised so anyone can find any image.

Make sure every channel (website, social, email) gets the right crops, formats and sizes.

Skills:

Exceptional technical skill in lighting, camera, colour management and retouching, someone senior…
