The role is well suited to someone ready to take the next step in their career, gain more project ownership, and continue progressing towards Chartership with active support.

The Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking design work across all stages for small to medium-sized projects

  • Supporting senior engineers on larger, more complex schemes

  • Collaborating closely with architects, clients, sustainability consultants, and internal teams

  • Attending site visits, meetings, and contributing to practical problem-solving

  • Supporting the development of project scopes and fee proposals

  • Coordinating drawings and production information

  • Maintaining CPD records and progressing towards Chartership (with structured support)

About You

You’ll be a thoughtful, technically capable engineer who enjoys collaboration and wants their work to have a positive impact.

Essential requirements:

  • 2–5 years’ post-graduateexperience in structural engineering

  • At least 1 year working within a UK-based engineering consultancy

  • Actively working towards Chartership (or recently started the process)

  • Comfortable running smaller projects independently and contributing within larger teams

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience or interest in timber or composite structures

What’s on Offer

This consultancy is known for investing in its people and creating a genuinely supportive working environment. You can expect:

  • A collaborative, creative, and inclusive culture

  • Active support for professional development, training, and further education

  • A comprehensive benefits package, including:

    • Private health cover and health cash plan

    • Monthly contribution towards fitness-related expenses

    • Discretionary bonus scheme

    • 6% employer pension contribution

    • 25 days annual leave (with the option to buy up to 5 more), increasing with service

    • Up to 4 additional wellbeing days per year

    • Cycle-to-work and childcare savings schemes

    • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
