Overview
During each visit the engineer will assess the following aspects on site:
- H&S practices and site safety conditions with an emphasis on promoting a strong health and safety culture (not a formal audit).
- Installation status compared to the contractor’s programme.
- Installation quality including effectiveness of the contractor’s supervision of its subcontractors; compliance with the design, ERs and good practice. Client will share and brief on ERs and design documents with the engineer, however the engineer is not expected to perform a full review of these documents. Client project managers will communicate key design updates with the engineer ahead of site visits and require written updates following site visits.
- Adherence to quality control procedures.
- Security arrangements and overall site condition (tidiness, noise/dust, waste management, access roads, etc.).
- Up-to-date construction programme from the EPC contractor.
- Progress updates from the EPC contractor site manager during each visit.
- The most recent monthly construction reports from the EPC Contractor to be shared with client ahead of site visits.
- Site induction on first visit to the project, and a briefing of ongoing works on each subsequent visit from the EPC Contractor/Developer.
- The engineer is expected to contribute to the Project risk register with issues identified on site during each site visit.
- Notes on outcomes from construction monitoring site visits in a quality report template, as requested by the developer.
- These contributions are intended to support other work packages in the client’s wider engagement with the customer and are therefore an important part of the scope.
- At least 5 years in renewable projects.
- At least 3 years in solar or BESS projects (please include details in CV).
- Background in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Experience in supervising quality control of EPC execution of work.
