Location: Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA

Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm

Salary: £42,228 - £48,633 annual salary

This post is temporary for 23 months.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals to join our Development Management team, responsible for leading on development management matters for the Service.

You must have experience in road design standards, drainage, construction methods, transportation assessments and traffic modelling. You should also have knowledge and experience of legislative and technical aspects in this area of work (e.g. Roads Construction Consent) and be able to assist with policy development in this area.

You should be able to work under pressure to specific deadlines and directions, whilst working as part of a wider specialist team.

Successful candidates must have a HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant subject, and ideally you should be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards this.

You must hold a current driver’s licence as you will be expected to travel throughout the Council area.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this specialist team tasked with driving forward the Council’s economic development priorities ensuring we have the necessary supporting roads and transportation infrastructure to achieve this.

  • Performing – Are there any areas of innovation and technology that the Council should embrace to help improve the way in which road authorities deliver services with the sole aim of improving the road network. Please discuss with relevant examples from your own experience.
