Interim Financial Controller 6-month Contract Hybrid North London (some office attendance required)
We are looking for an Interim Financial Controller for an initial 6-month contract. Supporting a well-established, values-led housing organisation during a period of change and reorganisation, to ensure the year-end and Business as Usual finance runs efficiently and accurately.
The RoleThis is a senior, hands-on role, ideal for an experienced Financial Controller who can quickly take ownership of financial control, statutory reporting and team leadership within a regulated environment.
- Leading, motivating and developing the Finance Team
- Full ownership of financial control and statutory reporting, including year-end accounts and audit
- Oversight of month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Cashflow forecasting and liquidity monitoring to support funding requirements
- Responsibility for tax matters including VAT, Corporation Tax and charitable reliefs
- Delivery of regulatory and statutory returns in line with sector requirements
- Oversight of transactional finance
- Rent setting compliance in line with regulatory standards
- Partnering with Treasury and Business Planning on forecasts and financial planning
- Production of clear, concise reports for senior stakeholders, Board and Committees
- Driving process improvement and strengthening financial controls
- Acting as deputy to senior leadership within Resources when required
You will be a confident interim who can add value quickly and operate effectively in a complex environment.
You will bring- Full CCAB (or equivalent) accountancy qualification
- Significant post-qualification experience in a senior financial accounting role within Social Housing
- Proven experience producing statutory accounts and leading external audit
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management capability
- The ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
