About the Role

Vantage is seeking a talented Senior Analyst Risk Analytics with experience in insurance-linked securities to join our team. Reporting to the VP, Group Risk Analytics, the successful candidate will support the modeling and pricing of property catastrophe reinsurance submissions, contribute to enhancing reporting capabilities, and assist in the development and improvement of internal pricing tools. This role requires strong quantitative skills, an analytical mindset, initiative, and a curiosity-driven approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Modeling and Pricing:

  • Analyze and price property catastrophe reinsurance submissions using advanced modeling techniques.
  • Assist in maintaining models used to assess risk and support underwriting decisions.
  • Partner closely with underwriters to help ensure accurate and consistent risk evaluation.
  • Contribute to the review and refinement of internal pricing tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support implementation of enhancements, methodologies, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with data and technology teams to help integrate and maintain tools within existing systems.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Gather, clean, and analyze data from various sources to support pricing and risk analysis.
  • Assist in producing and improving recurring reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear summaries, reports, and presentations highlighting insights and key findings.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support alignment of pricing analyses with business objectives.
  • Communicate analytical concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in meetings with internal teams and external partners, including brokers and clients, as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in reinsurance / catastrophe modeling or similar, with familiarity in insurance-linked securities being a plus.
  • Familiarity with standard reinsurance submissions and data.
  • Solid foundation in statistical analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strong experience with industry-standard modeling software (e.g., Moody’s, Verisk). Experience with other third-party catastrophe modeling vendors a plus.
  • Catastrophe-modeling credentials from Moody’s (CCRA) or Verisk (CEEM) preferred. CCRMP or CSCR credentials from iCAS a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SQL programming language preferred; proficiency in Python & R a plus.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or similar as a data repository also a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
