Salary: £21,114 - £24,316 per year
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Housing and Technical Resources and we are seeking to recruit a Strategy and Policy Officer who will focus upon bringing empty homes back into use. This job share post requires collaborative working to ensure key operational and strategic responsibilities can be achieved. You will be jointly responsible for the continuing development, implementation and review of the council's empty homes service throughout South Lanarkshire.
You will have a comprehensive understanding of private sector housing and the benefits of engaging with owners of empty properties to bring these homes back into use.
You should have the drive to develop multi agency partnerships and raise the profile of the empty homes service both internally and externally.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage a workload of cases which require relationship building and earning a degree of trust.
You should have excellent IT skills and be dynamic and creative, with the ability to resolve problems as they arise. Successful applicants will be required to be flexible in approach.
