Delivery Lead - Outside IR35 - Contract (Insurance) About the role

Delivery Leads are responsible for the successful delivery of our clients’ projects across the full lifecycle, from inception to launch and beyond. Typical project sizes range from 50 to 1,000 days and our projects span multiple sectors and technologies.

On this occasion you’ll work with one our existing FS&I clients to develop a business case to stand up a new delivery team targeted at specific business challenges.

For the initial 4-6 weeks, your focus will be taking an initial set of problem statements, facilitating workshops and exploration sessions to expand out the detail and performing follow on analysis. This will culminate in producing a vision, scope and roadmap for the new team. Alongside this, you will produce an operational plan for how the new delivery team will run, including roles & responsibilities, ways of working and structure.

You will need to understand client objectives and help craft direction to meet their business outcomes.

After this initial period, you will then transition to standing up this new team and embedding your operational plan. You'll manage the definition, prioritisation and eventually delivery of the team's product backlog, keeping the work flowing and the team motivated, supported and happy. Your job is to keep delivery running smoothly and make sure the client has a positive experience throughout.

Over time, additional client technical, BA and Product Owner resources are expected to join the team.

This is a very hands-on role, with tasks that will vary on a day-to-day basis, and you will need to take a pragmatic approach. You will report to an Enterprise Products Manager within the client.

• Have experience as a delivery lead within Financial Services, including working with senior stakeholders
• Have led projects that span the full business change lifecycle, not just the technology build, but the people, process, and organisational change needed to make it stick
• Have experience turning client needs into well-formed user stories, and running a product backlog through definition, prioritisation and delivery
• Have experience planning and facilitating workshops to explore problem statements.
• Have worked in other delivery roles such as product ownership, consultancy or technical roles
• Have experience in process analysis and optimisation, including techniques such as Value Stream Mapping to identify waste and drive meaningful improvements
• Have worked across programmes involving multiple teams, using scaled agile approaches such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum  familiar with lean/agile techniques, tools, and principles
• Have a history of solving problems, managing risks and overcoming challenges
• Have worked in multidisciplinary teams, including directly with developers and designers
• Show evidence of a dedication to continuous improvement – both supporting/coaching a team and in your own ways of working

• Are comfortable taking the initiative and working with ambiguity
• Can communicate clearly, including an ability to explain technical concepts to people with diverse backgrounds in a way that is meaningful to them
• Are interested in and familiar with how software is built and delivered, including knowing when things are technically easy or difficult. Have an equal interest in how business change is run to ensure technology projects are successful and vice versa
• Are curious about emerging technologies, particularly AI, and bring a considered, practical view on how they can improve delivery outcomes
• Understands the commercial dynamics of client engagements and can balance client outcomes with Softwire's business interests
