We are seeking a dedicated Powered Access Workshop Manager to lead our dynamic workshop team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the safe and efficient refurbishment of scissor lifts. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety compliance, and high-quality standards of our refurbishment processes.
Job Description:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the scissor lift refurbishment workshop.
- Lead and motivate a team of both Electrical and Mechanical Workshop Engineers to achieve production targets.
- Supervise and support team members, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in the workshop processes, implementing changes to improve efficiency.
- Manage departmental discipline, holidays, sickness and absence, etc.
- Manage the recruitment process for the department.
- Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.
Specific
Skills:
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, capable of motivating and guiding workshop staff to achieve optimal performance and productivity.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges that arise in the workshop environment.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage resources effectively, and maintain a structured workflow.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and dynamic work situations, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of projects.
- Customer service orientation, with a focus on meeting client expectations and maintaining strong relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Continuous improvement mindset, actively seeking opportunities to enhance workshop processes, procedures, and efficiency.
Knowledge:
- NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Extensive experience in a management role of a workshop or similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refurbishment processes.
