Join our team in Northam (approximately 95km from Perth) as an Assistant in Nursing where you’ll support patients and families as part of a dedicated nursing team. We have full-time, part-time and casual opportunities available, with a strong focus on teamwork, support and person‑centred care.

About the Opportunity

The Assistant in Nursing is responsible for delivery of care within the scope of the duties of the AIN and under the supervision and delegation of a Nurse. The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) is responsible for the delivery of the delegated care in a safe and person‑centred approach, in collaboration with patients, their families and nurses.

To be successful in this role, you will have…
  • Effective interpersonal skills, written and verbal, inclusive of numerics skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of safe manual handling procedures, knowledge of occupational health and safety principles including patient handling and infection control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated digital capability to enable navigation of online policy access, internal communication and completing of online learning resources.

    • AIN (non‑student):
      Evidence of successful completion of the nationally recognised qualification, Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

  • AIN (Student):
    Evidence of successful completion with academic good standing of a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) approved program of study for either:
    • Stage 1 and 2 (66% completion) of Diploma of Nursing programme
    • 50% completion of initial registration qualifications leading to registration with NMBA as a registered nurse and/or midwife:
    • Semester 1 to 3 of Bachelor qualification
    • Semester 1 to 4 of Dual Bachelor qualification
    • Semester 1 to 2 of Master (Graduate-entry) qualifications
    • Semester 1 to 4 of overseas registration…
