Position: Quality Assurance Assistant - 12 Month Maternity Cover

ABOUT

THE ROLE

As a Quality Assurance Assistant at Daylesford Farm, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work closely with our production and operations teams to monitor and maintain compliance with industry regulations, conduct regular inspections and audits, and implement quality control procedures. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will help uphold our reputation for producing premium, organic products.

In this dynamic role, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, analyse data to identify areas for enhancement and support the resolution of any quality‑related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Specification Technologist with raw material approvals, supplier documentation, and maintaining accurate ingredient and product specifications.
  • Review certificates of analysis, provide input during supplier assessments, and ensure correct labelling across the business.
  • Carry out scheduled verification activities, including calibration tasks, across production units and retail stores, and contribute to HACCP reviews.
  • Assist with quality assessments, QAS monitoring, and ensure compliance with SALSA and Soil Association standards.
  • Help Production Teams close out audit actions, stay up to date with food safety training, and deliver technical induction training for new starters.
  • Manage the laboratory sampling schedule, collate results for Production and Hospitality, and oversee pest control and chemical contractor reports, ensuring timely completion of actions.
  • Support investigations into customer complaints, non‑conformances, and microbiological out‑of‑spec results, analysing trends and identifying areas for improvement.
SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
  • Strong understanding of food safety principles and regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply them consistently across production environments.
  • In‑depth knowledge of allergen management, cross‑contamination risks, and legal labelling obligations.
  • Strong understanding of GMP requirements within food production environments, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and product safety.
  • Clear, confident communicator able to convey technical information to both skilled specialists and operational staff.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, manage sampling schedules, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Capable of collating, analysing, and interpreting data from laboratory tests, audits, and quality monitoring activities.
