Hours: 35hrs per week, temporary for 18 months
Work Pattern: Monday
- Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm
Salary / Hourly Rate: £47,611 - £48,633

We are delighted to offer a rare and exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist working within Housing Services. This unique role links housing, health, and social care, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives through improving access to suitable housing.
About the Role- Working within the Home and Health Assessment Service to assess the health aspects of housing applications in line with the Council’s Housing Allocation Policy
- Conducting home visits
- Recommending housing priority levels
- Identifying and facilitating the provision of equipment and adaptations to support individuals to remain safely in their homes
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the Home and Health Assessment Service
- Supporting the identification of housing needs in the development of new-build council housing
- Undertaking environmental assessments of void council properties to inform the provision of appropriate adaptations and equipment
- Completing occupational therapy assessments to support the Council’s housing investment programme
- A sound understanding of the pressures on social housing and the challenges of meeting diverse housing needs
- Strong IT skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate written reports
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
- The ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external partners
- Experience of managing a varied and demanding workload within a small team
A driving licence and the ability to travel are essential for this role.
