The Role
This role is based within the Employability Hub Team, part of NHS Lanarkshire's Human Resources Directorate. The Employability Hub Team plays a key role in developing NHS Lanarkshire's future workforce, supporting apprentices, employees and local communities to access employment, learning and career progression opportunities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Employability Advisor/Job Coach Lead to support the development and delivery of employability programmes and workforce initiatives that create opportunities for people and support career development across NHS Lanarkshire.
This is an exciting and varied role which combines employability, apprenticeship coordination, job coaching, partnership working and redeployment support. You will work directly with individuals, managers and external partners to help people access employment opportunities, develop their skills and achieve positive career outcomes.
Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
In this key role, you will:
Employability- Support the operational management of NHS Lanarkshire's Employability Programmes, including monitoring activity, maintaining records and completing relevant reporting and administrative tasks.
- Coordinate apprenticeship programmes, including Foundation Apprenticeships (FA), Modern Apprenticeships (MA) and Graduate Apprenticeships (GA).
- Provide person-centred job coaching and support to individuals participating in employability programmes, helping them develop confidence, skills and workplace readiness.
- Support line managers to effectively recruit, develop and support programme participants.
- Offer advice and guidance to NHS Lanarkshire managers and liaise with external partners and agencies to support the successful development and delivery of employability initiatives across all NHS Lanarkshire sites and services.
- Develop, create and deliver employability workshops, training materials, resources and learning activities.
- Deliver employability workshops, group sessions, induction programmes and information events.
- Support the recruitment, selection and onboarding of programme participants.
- Represent NHS Lanarkshire at careers events, job fairs, community engagement activities and partnership meetings.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with education providers, employability agencies, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
- Support employees through career transition and redeployment opportunities within NHS Lanarkshire.
- Assist in the development of tailored training programmes and personalised development plans based on individual skills, experience and career aspirations.
- Provide coaching and support to help employees explore alternative career pathways and opportunities.
- Facilitate mentoring opportunities by connecting redeployed staff with experienced colleagues to support successful transitions.
- Gather feedback from participants and adapt support plans to improve individual outcomes and programme effectiveness.
- Promote wellbeing and support services to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach throughout the redeployment journey.
What You'll Bring:
- Educated to SCQF Level 8 or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience in a relevant subject area.
- Experience working in a job coaching, employability, workforce development or related role within a large organisation.
- Experience of partnership working and developing positive stakeholder relationships.
- Experience interpreting and communicating complex information.
