This is a great opportunity for a Junior Software Developer to join our office in Edinburgh. You'll be part of the Payment team, who are the experts in Avaloq's end‑to‑end Payments and Cash Operations solutions and maintain, improve and innovate the associated modules throughout all software layers. This ranges from customer‑specific configuration for our SaaS clients and the Avaloq Banking Standard (A /S) for the various markets, down to the innermost core development for each of our clients.
Comprising of talented software developers, business analysts, and consultants from around the world, we collaborate in a dynamic and innovative environment. You'll become a trusted subject‑matter expert within your functional area, taking on a diverse range of assignments that will keep you challenged and engaged.
This role would be ideal for a junior software developer who is motivated to learn new skills, values customer interaction and thrives on crafting customization layers that enhance user experience. KeyTasks
- Design innovative solutions for new developments in collaboration with our technical leads and architects.
- Implement cutting‑edge business functionality, aligning with the appropriate software layers and enhancing reliability through automated testing.
- Take full ownership of your modules, working closely with your team to maintain and optimize functionality.
- Foster collaboration with colleagues both within the team and across departments, building solid partnerships for success.
- University degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline.
- Fantastic rapport‑building skills and client‑focused approach.
- Proficient programming, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Drive to learn new skills.
- An interest in banking.
- Experience working in the Financial Services industry.
- Knowledge of PL/SQL and relational database systems.
- Business know‑how or operational experience in Payments.
- Awareness or experience of Agile methodologies.
