Location: Glasgow - 5 days per week onsite

Rate: £425 per day

We are looking for a skilled Envoy API Engineer to join a major banking programme based onsite in Glasgow.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Envoy Proxy or Envoy Gateway
, API security, cloud-native engineering and modern Dev Ops tooling.

Banking or financial services experience is essential.

• Strong programming experience in Golang and/or Java

• Practical, hands-on cloud-native engineering experience

• Professional experience with Envoy Proxy and/or Envoy Gateway

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and the OpenAPI Specification (OAS)

• Hands-on experience implementing authentication and authorisation at API gateway level

• Strong experience with:

  • OAuth 2.0

  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)

  • JWT validation

  • Mutual TLS (mTLS)

• Strong Dev Ops experience, including:

  • CI/CD

  • Kubernetes

  • Terraform

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity within a major banking environment, ideal for an experienced API Engineer with strong Envoy and cloud-native expertise.

This role is 5 days per week onsite in Glasgow. Banking/financial services experience is essential.

Rate: £425/day Inside IR35 | 6-month contract
