This role works closely with Meter Operators and internal teams to keep the supply chain running smoothly and supports the deployment and maintenance of millions of smart meters.

What you’ll be doing Forward Logistics and Asset Management

Leading physical stock takes, reconciliations and compliance with internal controls to safeguard assets, you will drive best practices in stock management such as first in, first out and priority installations to minimise risk and reduce unnecessary stock movements.

Preparing and delivering regular operational and system reports, you will continuously improve logistics processes to optimise efficiency and service levels and build/maintain strong relationships with Meter Operators and internal teams.

Quality, Stock, and Efficiency

Maintaining accountability for physical stock takes and reconciliations, ensuring all smart meters and related equipment are accurately recorded and safeguarded, you will support the management of asset flows for a large‑scale smart metering programme, with up to ten thousand new assets deployed in the field each week at peak times.

Working closely with internal teams to align delivery schedules with operational forecasts and ensure that service levels are consistently met, you will contribute to the management and reporting of assets valued at over eight hundred million pounds, supporting the strategic objectives of the Smart Metering Department.

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Meter Operators and internal stakeholders to ensure high standards of service and operational excellence, you will continuously seek opportunities to improve logistics processes, driving efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership over the life of the smart metering programme.

Driving a consistent approach to the security and safety of assets within the logistics chain, you will ensure all logistics processes meet regulatory, health and safety, environmental and quality standards.

Reporting and Service Standards

Providing the Operations Manager with high‑quality reports and presentations on the operational performance of the logistics function, you will establish, promote, encourage and monitor high quality service standards which ensure all work is to an excellent standard and that data collected and processed meets quality and time criteria set by all contracted parties.
