We are looking for a proactive Transport Assistant to support our busy distribution operation and deliver a first‑class service. The role is a 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday.
What you’ll do:- Debrief drivers daily and capture key delivery information
- Monitor and report on departmental KPIs
- Assist with holiday planning and rota management
- Provide general admin support to keep the department running smoothly
- Work with sales and admin teams to ensure best‑in‑class customer service
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence working with people and data
- A positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn
Experience with in a transport function is preferred but not essential.

- Week 1:
Monday‑Friday 15:00–00:00 - Week 2:
Sunday 11:00–21:00 / Monday‑Thursday 15:00–00:00 - Rotates each month
- Supervise, motivate and support a team of warehouse operatives, drivers and forklift operators
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance to meet operational targets
- Support training and development of staff
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics including goods receiving, picking, packing and loading
- Ensure accurate order fulfilment and timely dispatch
- Monitor stock levels, support cycle counting and reporting of variances
- Maintain compliance with food safety, health and safety and environmental regulations
- Use WMS and handheld scanners to track and record goods movement
- Generate and maintain records on stock, deliveries, returns and shift performance
- Lead by example in maintaining a professional and positive working environment
- Proven supervisory experience in a busy warehouse or distribution environment
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and warehouse operations (HACCP, stock rotation, etc.)
- Good leadership and people‑management skills
- Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office, warehouse systems)
- Valid forklift licence (counterbalance or reach) or willingness to train
- Experience with HACCP and the food and drink industry
- IOSH or similar health & safety qualification
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems

Salary: £31,500 per year (45 hours per week)
Fleet: 3 × 3.5T vans
Reports to:
Group Transport Manager
- Drive and manage deliveries across Scotland using a 3.5T van
- Ensure vehicle safety and maintenance standards
- Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
- Act as senior point of contact for a team of three drivers
- Plan and schedule routes to optimise efficiency
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, vehicle checks and safety standards
- Monitor driver performance and provide guidance
- Liaise with management on fleet maintenance and process improvements
- Full UK driving licence
- Proven experience in a driving role
- Strong understanding of transport compliance and vehicle safety
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to lead, support and coordinate a small team
- Valid CPC qualification (required)

Salary: £38,754.30 per year
Fleet: 3.5T up to 26T (temperature controlled and ambient)
Main responsibilities:- Carry out multi‑drop deliveries across Scotland
- Work flexible shift pattern (Mon‑Fri or Tues‑Sat) with 22 days per 4 weeks
- Maintain vehicle safety and condition
- Manage route planning and punctuality
- Ensure adherence to delivery schedules and customer service standards
- Class 2 licence
- Experience of multi‑drops (preferred but not essential)
- Digi‑tacho card and CPC card for 7.5t and above
- Good physical fitness
- Strong customer‑service attitude
