Library Assistant​/On Call

The Library Assistant I provides friendly, courteous, and efficient customer service while assisting with daily operations at the Circulation Desk.

• Assist patrons with checking materials in and out, library card registration, and general inquiries.
• Answer telephone calls and assist patrons with locating materials and using library equipment.
• Process holds, interlibrary loans, overdue notices, and museum pass reservations.
• Shelve library materials and maintain organization of library collections.
• Maintain patron confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• One or more years of experience in a public library or customer service environment preferred.
• Proficiency with computers, internet browsers, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact positively and professionally with patrons of all ages.

Every third Saturday a month (9:00-4:00)/on call as needed
