Summary:

Hamilton Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Long Term Substitute Teacher for 8th grade Math to join our team for the 25-26 school year. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment, engage students in meaningful mathematical concepts, and support their academic growth during the absence of the regular teacher. This position requires a commitment to fostering a love for mathematics and helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

This position will begin approximately mid-September.

• Deliver engaging and effective math lessons aligned with the 8th-grade curriculum.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Create and implement lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Manage classroom behavior and implement school policies consistently.
• Collaborate with other educators to support student learning and development.
• Prepare and administer assessments to measure student understanding and mastery of mathematical concepts.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or license for middle school mathematics (or eligibility for certification).
• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of 8th-grade mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students in a classroom setting.
• Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of students and the classroom environment.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check as required by School Board Policy.
