Site Engineer

Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Gloucestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a long‑term project involving a range of civil engineering works including highways construction, drainage, earthworks, structures and associated infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery team, ensuring works are completed safely, to specification and in line with programme requirements.

• Setting out for highways, drainage, earthworks and structural works
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
• Managing quality assurance processes, inspections and testing
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Supporting subcontractors and ensuring work is delivered to programme
• Preparing permits, ITPs, check sheets and site documentation
• Assisting with temporary works coordination and implementation
• Promoting high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
• Liaising with Site Agents, Section Engineers and Project Managers

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects
• Proven setting out experience using Leica, Trimble or similar equipment
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of QA processes, ITPs and construction documentation
• CSCS Card
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Full UK driving licence

• Experience working for Tier 1 contractors
• National Highways project experience
• Temporary Works awareness
• SMSTS or SSSTS
