RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, are seeking a Medical Director for the Laboratory at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton.

This leadership role provides oversight of all anatomic and clinical laboratory services and offers the opportunity to guide operational strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor staff in a 287-bed community hospital within New Jersey’s largest integrated health care system.

The minimum salary for this position if hired to work is $330,000 per year.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers RWJMS, in conjunction with Rutgers Health, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton (RWJUH-Hamilton).

The successful candidate will serve as the leader of the pathology laboratory, overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations.

• Lead all anatomic and clinical laboratory operations at RWJUH-Hamilton
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision for laboratory staff
• Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and hospital leadership to ensure high-quality laboratory services
• Oversee test validation and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including CAP
• Participate in clinical consultation, tumor boards, and interdisciplinary care initiatives
• Support strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives for the laboratory

• MD, DO, or MBBS degree required
• Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Experience in laboratory leadership, CAP-accredited laboratories, or relevant subspecialty is highly desirable
