Overview
HYBRID Director of Civil Engineering for our client in the Trenton, NJ area. This is a working hands-on role, not just personnel management, within the Municipal and Land Development Engineering divisions. Salary range is $160k – $190k.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary civil engineering team.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for infrastructure development and improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
- Project Oversight
- Oversee the design and execution of civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, water systems, and site development.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain and enforce safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Team Development
- Mentor and develop engineering staff through training, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a key liaison with clients, government agencies, contractors, and internal departments.
- Present project updates and technical information to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Municipality experience required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 10 years in a leadership/management role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
