| POSITION
Substitute High School Family Consumer Science (FCS) Instructor
|
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This instructor will teach courses creating awareness of post-secondary education and career options as part of Butler Tech's 10th Grade Career Exploration Academy.

This is a full-time substitute assignment from October 2026 through May 2027. The permanent, full-time FCS Instructor position for the  school year will be posted separately in Spring 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate licensure through the Ohio State Board of Education
  • Substitute license including Grade 10
  • Preferred:
    • Career Technical license in Family Consumer Science Education;
      OR
    • Valid Ohio Resident Educator, Professional, Permanent or Five-Year Career-Technical teaching license in any field;
      Holds a bachelor's degree; AND Passes the OAE content-knowledge test for Family Consumer Science (022) ;
• Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
• Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
• Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
• State-issued identification card with photograph;
• History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
• Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.

SALARY Starting at $285.51/day, with a higher rate possible based on experience and education
