Job Description Summary As an Advanced Lead Engineer for the Advanced Repair Technology team, you will be responsible for developing the next generation of technologies that will keep GE Aerospace engines flying well into the future. You will execute the maturation of these technologies through our development process, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards. You are technologically curious and an innovative thinker with experience in successfully industrializing technology for aerospace applications.

Successful candidates will have a strong repair technology development background and have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop technology. You will be comfortable taking risks in a fast-paced, global work environment, executing multiple projects across all phases of the development process, and will be self‑motivated to meet professional commitments with the highest levels of integrity.

We are looking for an innovative mindset, holistic thinking, and strong passion for technology development and implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute multiple advanced repair development projects, advancing a variety of technologies through feasibility, business case assessment, process development, process qualification, and industrialization into repair facilities for new and updated processes.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Maintains an awareness of the latest technical developments in multiple technology spaces.
  • Use experience and good judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in the area of technology responsibility. Leverage an internal and external network to analyze problems and arrive at decisions.
  • Develop working knowledge of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Achieves in-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills who is driven to make a positive impact on the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Aerospace engineering/technology development experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior experience and knowledge of the GE Aerospace Advanced Repair RRL process.
  • Experience and expertise in developing advanced coating technologies, machining processes, welding & additive processes, or composites.
  • Prior experience industrializing new technology into a repair shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problem.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully working collaboratively in a cross‑functional team to deliver technical results.

This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
