Maintenance Mechanic

Responsible for maintaining production equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Follows GMP’s and SOPs to ensure a safe and quality product. Assist with the disassembly and reassembly as needed.

• Ensure “Safety First” is always practiced and observes and adheres to all job safety rules.
• Adhere to all safety procedures including Machine Guarding, LOTO, IIPP, etc.
• Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs or extended downtime.
• Checks product for visual and quality defects.
• Performs preventive maintenance and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
• Examines machine issues, where possible, takes corrective action. Analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily shift report.
• Notifies maintenance department lead or supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
• Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned.
• Abide by ALL Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SOPs.
• Responsible for reporting Food Defense observations to Quality Teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by facility repairs as needed.

• Electrical trouble shooting knowledge.
• Mechanical Aptitude.

• Applicable technical certification.
• Food Manufacturing or packaging experience.

• Capable of lifting, push, pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing walking, bending, twisting, lifting, climbing stairs.
• Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary in position.
• Fast-paced product/packaging work environment.
