Hours:

Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:00pm

Position Summary

The SQF Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the Hamilton Building by preventing product contamination (including biological, chemical and physical) through cleaning, organizing, maintaining and auditing activities that are performed in production areas as required and prescribed in the SQF GMP Audit Sheet, SQF Sanitation Checklist. SQF SWIs and Maintenance GMP as prescribed. This role includes performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and disinfecting surfaces, emptying and cleaning trash containers, restocking supplies and identifying any repairs needed.

This position reports to the Hamilton Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Informs Maintenance Manager of all repairs of maintenance issues and structural problems throughout the facility.
  • Completes a daily/nightly cleaning checklist to ensure all areas and equipment are ready to meet pre operations goals established by SQF GMP/SWI.
  • Reports all GMP/SWI/SQF misses following the requirements through continuous daily inspections.
  • Sanitation Technician will receive and follow QA Training to have a better understanding of the SQF requirements to enable completion of tasks assigned.
  • Sanitation Technician will receive and follow in all areas of Sanitation Department including the Janitorial areas.
  • Completing training in chemical usage for janitorial and sanitation tasks.
  • Janitorial tasks such as cleaning all restrooms, breakroom, main hallways, production floor, warehouse, and areas assigned including outside the facility.
  • Complete training on Master Sanitation Schedule / GMP Audit Sheet.
  • Support production and quality team through sanitation efforts and initiatives.
  • Inform immediate supervisors of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in scheduled items or production on the floor.
  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1–2 years of sanitation or food manufacturing experience required.
  • Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, and GMP programs strongly desired.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc.
  • Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.
  • Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision.
  • Incumbent is regularly required to carry and lift up to 75lbs.
  • Work with rotating equipment, hazardous equipment, and safety sensitive equipment.
