Ross Local School District is seeking a dependable and student‑centered long‑term School Security Officer to support the safety and security of our school community. This individual will work collaboratively with administrators, staff, students, and families to maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment.

• Monitor school buildings, grounds, and entrances during the school day
• Support student supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch periods, and transitions
• Enforce school safety procedures, visitor protocols, and district policies
• Assist administrators with incident response and documentation as needed
• De‑escalate conflicts using calm, professional communication
• Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have served as a law enforcement officer for at least 10 years (or met specific criteria for early separation)
• Separated from service in good standing
• Meet ongoing firearms proficiency/training standards
• Must not be prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑stress situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students of all ages
• Successful completion of background checks and required clearances

• Full‑time (no weekends or holidays)
• January 2026 through May 2026, at a minimum

• $24.17/hour
