Position SummaryWalmart is expanding its workforce and is looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. In this role, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures, operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, food equipment). Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide a prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time, move up and down ladders frequently, and work at heights comfortably.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and work in various temperatures.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or Technical certification with at least 1 year of experience, or 2 years of total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
- License in the related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Proficiency in intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
