Design Manager

Location: Hammersmith and Fulham

Design Manager – Residential Construction – West London

We are recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join a leading residential construction contractor on a major residential scheme in West London.

The successful Design Manager will take responsibility for coordinating and managing the full design process, working closely with the project team, architects, consultants and subcontractors to ensure the residential construction project is delivered successfully.

Design Manager responsibilities:

* Manage the design process across the residential construction scheme

* Coordinate architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors

* Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions

* Identify and resolve design issues throughout the construction programme

* Chair design meetings and track outstanding information

* Ensure the residential design complies with building regulations and client requirements

* Work closely with the Project Manager and wider construction team

* Manage RFIs, design changes, approvals and design risk

* Support the residential construction project through to completion and handover

Design Manager requirements:

* Previous experience working as a Design Manager within the UK construction industry

* Strong experience delivering large-scale residential construction projects

* Good technical understanding of residential design and construction methods

* Experience working for a main contractor or residential developer

* Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills

* Able to manage multiple design packages and meet programme deadlines
