Primary SEN Teaching Assistant / LSA
Hammersmith & Fulham, London
£120 - £135 per day | Full Time | Long Term
Ace Academics are recruiting a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Hammersmith & Fulham.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an extremely small, highly personalised learning environment, with typically just 1–2 pupils in a class. You will support primary-aged pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional needs, helping them re-engage with education and make progress academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
* Supporting SEN primary-aged pupils in classes of typically just 1–2 students
* Providing intensive 1:1 and highly personalised support
* Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs
* Helping pupils access literacy, numeracy and the wider primary curriculum
* Building trusted relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education
* Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour
* Adapting your approach to each pupil's individual needs and learning style
* Working closely with teachers, SEN professionals and pastoral staff
* Helping create a calm, nurturing and consistent learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA, Learning Support Practitioner or SEND Support Worker
* Experience supporting primary-aged children with additional needs
* Comfortable working closely with pupils on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis
* Experience with SEN and/or SEMH is highly desirable
* Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
* Confident supporting children who may require additional help with engagement, behaviour or emotional regulation
* A genuine interest in specialist and alternative education
* Committed to safeguarding and pupil well-being
