Description
Basic Functions:
To assist the Director of Special Education in the development, implementation and coordination of psychological services for the district.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide psychological services for students with disabilities and referred students including testing, diagnosis and consultation.
- Conduct appropriate psychological evaluations of referred students and submit required written reports on evaluated student in compliance with Article 7 timelines.
- Interpret assessment results and integrate them with other information regarding behavior and conditions related to learning.
- Consult and work with school personnel and parents in planning and developing a student’s individualized education program and school programs to meet the special needs of students.
- Provide counseling for students and parents.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and case conference.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school and agency representatives utilize language understandable to the general public to facilitate understanding of psychological data, information and results.
- Participate and assist in planning and presenting for in-service training programs for teachers, administrators, and other school personnel as requested by the special education office.
- Attend scheduled staff, committee, professional, interagency meetings and staff development meetings.
- Interact and consult with health, mental health, and juvenile justice agency representative’s office.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
- Participate on School-based and District RTI Teams.
- Enter School based Medicaid related services into Go Solutions computer program.
- Minimum of Master’s Degree
- Valid Indiana School Psychologist License
