Description
The Recess Aide will provide supervision and monitoring of cafeteria and playground activities under the direction of the principal and assistant principal at a K‑6 elementary school.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to respectfully work with children and adults
- Ability to pass a required background check
- Follow the stated expectations of the Principal and Assistant Principal
- Establish and enforce an orderly process for arrival/dismissal of lunch/recess
- Communicate serious student infractions/concerns with teachers/administrators
- Encourage safe and positive play and cooperation
- Assist students with any medical/emergency situations in the cafeteria/at recess
- Serve as a model of conflict‑resolution
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principal
- Ability to self‑regulate emotions and model respectful behavior and language
- Cooperate with other recess aides and work as a team
- Maintain in strict confidence all student information
- Have knowledge of student code of conduct and consequences

- Ability to accept positive and constructive criticism
- Ability to perform physical duties both indoors and outdoors
