Description

The Recess Aide will provide supervision and monitoring of cafeteria and playground activities under the direction of the principal and assistant principal at a K‑6 elementary school.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to respectfully work with children and adults
  • Ability to pass a required background check
Responsibilities
  • Follow the stated expectations of the Principal and Assistant Principal
  • Establish and enforce an orderly process for arrival/dismissal of lunch/recess
  • Communicate serious student infractions/concerns with teachers/administrators
  • Encourage safe and positive play and cooperation
  • Assist students with any medical/emergency situations in the cafeteria/at recess
  • Serve as a model of conflict‑resolution
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principal
Skills & Knowledge
  • Ability to self‑regulate emotions and model respectful behavior and language
  • Cooperate with other recess aides and work as a team
  • Maintain in strict confidence all student information
  • Have knowledge of student code of conduct and consequences
