Zachry Group is currently looking for a talented and self‑motivated Estimator I to join our Estimating department in our Hammond, Indiana office.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in some interesting and challenging projects at our client site.

• Perform a variety of routine estimating assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for assigned phases of a project.
• Prepare estimate basis documents highlighting the craft scope of work as well as the sources for the quantities, vendor pricing, and productivities.
• Create and include clarifications detailing their estimate basis when clarity was not provided through proposal documents.
• Create comparisons between scope for the project being estimated and past projects which have similar scope.

• Ability to use Aspen Estimating software on Zachry provided hardware.
• Connection to internet is required to perform the work.

• Aspen Capital Cost Estimator certification.

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat, and software systems. Availability for field work and walking down scope to be estimated required. Position will include visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights using stairs or ladders) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: fire retardant clothing (FRC’s), hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, climbing harness, gloves and steel‑toe work boots.

Employee will work in a trailer or building on site. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
