Job Description

Reports to: Supervising Speech Pathologist, Principals

Location: District Needs

Evaluation by: Supervising Speech Pathologist, Principals

Evaluation period: Annual

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree from a technical training program designed to prepare for SLPA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Disorders preferred, with successful school internship and/or student teaching
  • Current licensure in Indiana
  • Registration with Indiana Professional License Agency
  • Basic knowledge of special education laws and procedures
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct treatment programs for students with speech/language impairments under supervision
  • Maintain student records as required
  • Use research to identify effective techniques and services
  • Consult on individualized educational plans related to speech/language services
  • Provide strategies for skill generalization and independence
  • Participate in case conferences and review student progress
  • Implement assistive technology and collaborate with staff
  • Provide professional development as needed
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment

Salary based on experience and qualifications. Benefits as per Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regular standing, walking, sitting; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; lifting up to 40 lbs; moderate noise level.

Work environment typical of educational settings, with reasonable accommodations available.
