Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough inspection of the facilities to diagnose and repair the following: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, painting, roof leaks, cabinets, doors, fire equipment, drywall, soap and towel dispensers, overall exterior (grounds, parking lot restriping, minor stucco repair, minor irrigation repairs).
- Inspect, check, and repair items that may cause tripping hazards.
- Review Facilities Checklist and repair items on the checklist.
- Implement OSHA and housekeeping requirements of all satellites.
- Provide solutions and recommendations on needed repairs; perform and supervise repairs.
- Transport, relocate or dispose of office equipment and furniture.
- Consult with outside vendors for estimates on repairs and replacements.
- Order maintenance and replacement parts as needed.
- Attend weekly and/or regular meetings with manager to discuss open repair tickets, special projects and other pertinent information.
- Ensure preventive maintenance on all vehicles is done timely.
- Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
- Maintain and repair all building, equipment and furnishings of the Health facilities.
- Ensure safety and security of all satellites.
- Ensure compliance with all health building safety and other related regulatory requirements.
- Maintain orders and monitor inventory levels for facilities material and supplies.
- Attend regular program manager meetings.
- Responsible for managing the cleaning and maintenance of facilities and parking lot.
- Negotiate with vendors for facilities services and obtain quotes.
- Supervise Environmental Staff and Mobile Van Driver.
- Plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
- Prepare and deliver performance appraisals for staff.
- Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with the company’s values.
- Ability to carry out construction, remodeling, renovation and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions.
- Ability to work with facilities team to prioritize maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of building processes, procedures, equipment, tools, materials and their application.
- Specialized knowledge in construction (framing, drywall, flooring, finishing, roofing, locksmith), plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
- General computer knowledge and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
Bachelor’s degree in Health-Care Administration, Management and Operations preferred. Minimum of three years facility or custodial experience in a healthcare setting preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Certificates and LicensesFacility Management Certification preferred or Facility Management Profession. Driver’s license required.
Financial KnowledgeAdvanced knowledge of financial terms and principles; ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet/internet. Working knowledge of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems.
Scope of ResponsibilityDecisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department. Manage bio‑hazard disposal and oversee all vendors working at facilities.
Working ConditionsNormal office and health center environment. Frequent evening and occasional weekend work.
