We offer a satellite workspace in Hammond, LA. Employees assigned to work in our Hammond workspace will also be required to work in other areas such as Baton Rouge, LA and New Orleans, LA.
For more than 50 years, the LLA has helped the state of Louisiana foster accountability and transparency within Louisiana’s government by providing the Legislature and others with audit services, fiscal advice, and other useful information.
Salary ranges for different levels are as follows:
- Staff Auditor 1: minimum $49,000 annually
- Staff Auditor 2: minimum $52,920 annually
- Staff Auditor 3: minimum $57,680 annually
- Senior Auditor 1: minimum $64,150 annually
- Senior Auditor 2: minimum $76,230 annually
The LLA is seeking individuals for our Financial Audit Section who have a working knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing standards. Candidates should possess effective verbal and written communication skills and work well with audit supervisors, auditees, and team members.
Depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant, vacancies may be filled as either a Staff Auditor or Senior Auditor as part of our career progression framework.
ResponsibilitiesBelow are examples of common duties associated with financial audits. Not all tasks are listed:
- Conduct financial, operational, and/or compliance audits for a state entity.
- Assist in developing audit project programs and testing procedures.
- Assist in preparing audit reports and follow-up to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Examine fiscal documents to verify the accuracy of reported information and the reliability of record-keeping and reporting practices.
- Analyze operational processes to assess effectiveness and efficiency, and evaluate controls.
- Test for compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and policies.
- Perform special audits and investigations as needed.
- Apply sampling techniques effectively during audits.
- Utilize data processing systems, software, and automated tools for audits.
- Conduct inquiries to understand internal controls and document findings.
- Gather audit evidence and evaluate it to reach conclusions.
- Identify and document risks, including risks of misstatement, noncompliance, errors, and fraud.

Qualifications- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (any major) that meets eligibility to take the Louisiana CPA exam, OR
- Possession of a CPA certification.
- Official or unofficial college transcripts.
