Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of University Marketing and Communications invites applications for the position of Graphic Designer. Southeastern Louisiana University is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative Graphic Designer to develop compelling visual communications across print and digital platforms. The Graphic Designer will create materials that support the organization's marketing, communications, promotional, and branding initiatives while maintaining a consistent and professional visual identity.

The candidate will be comfortable taking projects from concept through final production, managing multiple projects and deadlines, and collaborating with colleagues, vendors, photographers, and other creative professionals. As part of UMC's Creative Team, the graphic designer will also help with occasional planning, scheduling, and physical set-up of photo and video shoots.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field by hire date.  At least 1 year of professional graphic design experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  Experience working in a marketing, communications, advertising, or corporate creative environment.  

Experience with photography, photo editing.  Experience creating social media and digital marketing content.  Experience developing or working within established brand guidelines.  Experience coordinating projects with printers, sign companies, promotional vendors, or other outside production partners.  Knowledge of accessibility considerations for print and digital communications.  Experience managing multiple projects from concept through final production.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS  

Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly:  Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop  Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, hierarchy, and visual communication.  Experience creating materials for both print and digital platforms.  Ability to prepare production-ready files for print and digital distribution.  Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.  Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  

Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to work collaboratively with individuals across different departments and areas of expertise.  Demonstrated ability to receive feedback and make revisions effectively.  Strong organizational and file-management skills.  Must provide a professional portfolio demonstrating relevant design experience.
