Job TitleAssistant Manager
Position SummaryThis position has responsibility for providing supervision for all donor related activities within the plasma collection center, including production, regulatory compliance, and human resource management as required. The Assistant Manager coordinates day-to-day center activities to support company goals, oversees the training plan and SOPs, and fosters an environment of teamwork and mutual respect. Routine communication of issues to the Center Director is required.
The role aims to maximize donor satisfaction and provide a safe, healthy, and friendly environment for both donor and staff. The position works in the production areas of the Donor Center approximately 85% of the time and serves as a bridge between daily operations and the Center Director.
- Monitor donor flow to ensure movement through the center at the expected pace, adjust as needed, and identify workflow improvements.
- Provide routine feedback to supervisor through one-on-one communication, telephone updates, action reports, and other management reports; inform supervisor of critical issues immediately.
- Assist the Center Director in monitoring production and expenses against the budget.
- Ensure medical supplies and resources are used as intended by routinely monitoring inventory against usage.
- Ensure daily operational supplies are always available.
- Oversee donor satisfaction on a day-to-day basis and minimize unnecessary annoyances or delays.
- Participate in center internal audits and assist with corrective actions as needed.
- Perform responsibilities related to unsuitable units and donors as needed.
- Supervisory Duties:
- Ensure staff are trained and competent per the center training plan and available to support safe donation activity.
- Monitor staff performance against standards and provide immediate correction as needed.
- Manage absences/attendance and work task schedules.
- Provide input into annual evaluations.
- Collaborate with QAS/designee regarding monitoring of errors, corrective actions, and ensuring regulatory, cGMP, and customer requirements are met.
- Four (4) years of experience in the medical field with two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
- College degree in business administration or biological sciences preferred or equivalent experience.
- Ability to effectively manage staff, handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines; understand concepts, requirements, and accounting issues for all business areas.
- Ability to follow cGMPs and procedures with great attention to detail.
- Ability to train and motivate employees at all levels; knowledge of Federal and State regulations including OSHA and FDA/CUA.
- Ability to understand and interpret government regulations and customer specifications; evaluate and interpret regulations and adapt procedures accordingly.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience:
Four years in the medical field with two years supervisory experience preferred. - Education:
College degree in business administration or biological sciences preferred or equivalent experience.
The role requires strict adherence to FDA regulations and company policies governing sales and marketing activities, completion of required compliance training, accurate documentation of sales interactions, and data privacy adherence. Participation in compliance reviews and ongoing education to stay updated on relevant FDA regulations is expected.
