The Production Operator is responsible for the various machines which fabricate and assemble paper products such as paper bags.
This position is on the Night Shift
, which operates Monday through Thursday from 4:30pm - 3:00am in our Hammond, LA location. There are occasional needs to work additional hours and/or work on a Friday at the Manager’s discretion.
- Follow all safety protocols throughout the plant
- Perform quality checks to verify product meets required specs.
- Observe operation of various machines to detect and correct machine malfunctions such as improper forming, glue flow, or pasteboard tension.
- Install attachments to machines for gluing, folding, printing, or cutting.
- Cut products to specified dimensions, using hand or power cutters.
- Place rolls of paper on machine feed tracks, and thread paper through gluing, coating, and slitting rollers.
- Monitor finished product as they drop from forming machines into rotating hoppers and into gravity feed chutes to prevent jamming.
- Adjust guide assemblies, forming bars, and folding mechanisms according to specifications, using hand tools.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment is a plus but NOT required – we will train!
- Mechanical skills a plus
- The ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Reliability in attendance and productivity
- Good communication skills; proficiency in communicating issues quickly
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to grasp products.
- Ability to work at a rapid pace.
- Climbing and other consistent physical activity required.

SummaryCompensation Range: $20.00- $22.00 hourly, consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position. ACR reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
