Overview

Home Consultant role at Clayton in Hammond, LA. The main job purpose is to create a world class home buying experience by assisting customers to identify a floor plan, select options, and coordinate the construction process.

• Be a Clayton Ambassador by protecting the Clayton branding and assets with integrity throughout the sales process.
• Develop expertise in finance/mortgage concepts, product knowledge, sales acumen, and local market insights.
• Maintain customer files and provide timely follow-up with prospective buyers via the company CRM system.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory selection, model presentation, and maintaining the appearance of the homes.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to increase home center traffic.
• Present display homes, demonstrate features and benefits to create added value for potential buyers.
• Set home center visits by converting ads, web leads, and prospect database inquiries into appointments.
• Participate in all sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company-sponsored functions.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment and assist with miscellaneous duties as required.

• At least 6 months of relationship-driven business-to-consumer sales preferred.
• General understanding of the retail environment.
• Ability to obtain appropriate manufactured home sales licensing.
• Learn and comply with legal requirements that apply to the sale of manufactured homes.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to excel in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work the required schedule, including Saturdays.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to walk the lot and show homes in all seasons.
• Ability to move and lift furniture and promotional items up to 75 lbs.
• Subject to criminal background check and drug screening.

• Base salary of $50,000 plus a lucrative commission plan.
