The ability to perform all aspects of the Lineworker job function including but not limited to the day-to-day aspects of maintaining and building overhead and underground electrical facilities. Responsible for leading other line workers and performing aerial and underground work including utility distribution construction tasks. Working with a Live Safe mindset in all tasks; ensuring to mitigate hazards where identified.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Ability to perform and lead overhead tasks, including energized primary cover up to 34,500 volts.
- Ability to understand transformer theories including bank installations, tap settings, and identifying and constructing multiple secondary voltage applications.
- Ability to learn and perform advanced primary voltage switching (up to 34,500 volts) tasks and applications.
- Ability to perform advanced Lineworker tasks on Regulators, capacitors banks, Alternate Switching Scheme, and Intelliruptor devices.
- Ability to lift, rig and tie knots to set up, construct, frame poles, and change out cross-arms; identifying materials and understanding distribution construction specifications.
- Ability to build, lead, and maintain underground residential distribution circuits, including but not limited to, prepare/operate pad mount switch gear, install and troubleshoot URD circuits and switching/tagging URD primary cable.
- Ability to learn three phase primary tasks to include safe operation and removal/installation of single and three phase reclosers, changing out insulators, and installing and replacing Gang Operated Airbrake Switches (GOABs).
- Leading and maintaining a well‑organized jobsite to ensure the surroundings are safe.
- Learning, completing, and performing (as necessary) all mandated training, such as but not limited to, First Aid, CPR, etc.
