The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law‑abiding citizens. We are seeking a licensed and experienced professional to serve as Social Worker 5‑A, providing advanced clinical services to youth in secure care settings. This role involves direct therapeutic engagement, case management, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to support rehabilitation, emotional well‑being, and successful reintegration.

The ideal candidate demonstrates clinical expertise, cultural competence, and a deep commitment to trauma‑informed and youth‑centered care.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus a master’s degree in social work followed by four years of social services experience. • Provide individual and group counseling to youth using evidence‑based practices
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with facility staff, families, and external providers to coordinate care
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving needs
• Document services and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with agency standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case planning
• Advocate for youth needs and support their transition to community‑based services

Work Location: Hammond Regional Office, Hammond, Louisiana.

Appointment Type: Full‑time, probationary.

Pre‑employment requirements: The incumbent must not have been convicted or pleaded nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c).
