Motor Design Engineer

Motor Design Engineer - Hampshire Responsibilities

• Implement internal and external requirements for motor designs.
• Producing Motor Requirements documentation in co-operation with the (concept development) team.
• Produce design descriptions, test and validation requirements documentation.
• Use analytical design tools or FEA software in motor design.
• Account for the impact of the control electronics on the motor performance.
• Understand the imperfections in performance, losses, detent, torque ripple.
• Understand and detail the mechanical forces produced by the motor and the impact of assembly tolerances in the motor design.
• Understand and define the thermal performance of the motor.

• Degree or equivalent skills
• Knowledge of electromagnetic FEA (Opera)
• Analysis and evaluation skills
• Communication skills - verbal and written
• Knowledge of SPEED
