The Opportunity

An established manufacturing operation is looking to appoint an experienced Production Maintenance Technician to join its engineering team on a night-shift basis.

This is a hands-on role focused on keeping critical production machinery operational, minimising downtime and supporting a high-performing manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, while also contributing to longer-term improvements in equipment reliability and site performance.

The role would suit an engineer who enjoys diagnosing technical problems, working closely with production teams and taking ownership of issues from initial fault identification through to permanent resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical and/or mechanical maintenance across a range of production and process equipment.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance activities to a high standard, helping to maximise equipment reliability and minimise unplanned downtime.
  • Attend equipment breakdowns and use a structured approach to diagnose faults and restore production safely and efficiently.
  • Investigate repeat failures and identify practical corrective actions to improve long-term equipment performance.
  • Work closely with Production colleagues to prioritise maintenance requirements and minimise disruption to manufacturing activity.
  • Assist with machinery set-ups, changeovers and adjustments as required by operational demand.
  • Contribute technical input to equipment modifications, upgrades and engineering projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability
