Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? We’re launching an exciting new Community CPR Advocate role and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be part of it.

Why we want you

One of the charity’s aims is to educate people on how to carry out effective CPR and use Public Access Defibrillators. As a Community CPR Advocate, you’ll empower others with the ability to perform CPR in emergencies, potentially saving lives. No prior teaching experience is needed—just a passion for helping others learn this essential skill and for making your community safer.

What

you will be doing
  • Discuss with groups how to recognise and react to a cardiac arrest.
  • Demonstrate how to perform effective CPR.
  • Show people how to use and access public defibrillators.
  • Represent SCAS and the charity in the local community.
  • Use a supplied PowerPoint presentation.
The skills you need
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Happy and confident (after training) in delivering teaching sessions to large groups.
  • Confident to work independently or within a small team.
  • Physically fit to carry out CPR on a manikin on the floor.
  • Confident with IT and Microsoft Office programmes.

Disclaimer

We will ask you to attend a CPR and defibrillator awareness refresher annually. We are looking for volunteers who can support us regularly throughout the year by attending a range of community‑based CPR awareness sessions. Please note this is not a first‑aid qualification.

Training will begin in September; there may be a short delay before you can start supporting us.
