Transport Coordinator
Location:
Alton, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (DOE)
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm (Full-time, Permanent)
About the Company
We're working with a well-established and fast-growing company within the construction and groundworks sector, known for delivering high levels of service and fast, reliable logistics support to customers nationwide. With a strong reputation in the market, they operate a busy, fast-paced transport function supporting multiple depots and customers.
The Role
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role where you'll play a key part in ensuring deliveries and collections run smoothly day-to-day. Supporting the Transport Manager, you'll coordinate routes, liaise with drivers and depots, and act as a central point of contact for delivery queries and problem resolution.
You'll be joining a collaborative team environment where no two days are the same, and where your organisational skills and ability to think on your feet will make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and coordinating daily delivery routes across multiple depots
Acting as the main point of contact for drivers, handling queries and resolving issues
Managing delivery schedules and responding to ETA queries from customers
Liaising with depot managers, customer service and internal teams
Monitoring orders and ensuring accurate allocation to depots
Handling failed or delayed deliveries and re-planning where needed
Supporting agency driver administration, including timesheets and purchase orders
Using routing and planning systems to optimise delivery efficiency
About You
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and enjoys problem-solving.
You'll ideally have:
Experience in transport, logistics, planning, or coordination (preferred but not essential)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams
The ability to manage multiple priorities at once
Good IT skills (Excel, Outlook, and general systems)
A proactive, team-focused attitude
