About the Role

At Crossroads Church, we want to create spaces where kids feel known, safe, and excited to attend, and where they can build meaningful relationships with trusted leaders who help them grow in faith.

As the Kids Ministry Coordinator at our Hampstead Campus, you will lead the weekly energy, environment, and volunteer experience for our 252 Elementary Ministry (Pre-K/Kindergarten through 5th grade). This role is a dynamic mix of Sunday morning execution, volunteer team leadership, and behind-the-scenes organization. If you have a heart for kids, love equipping volunteers, and want to help create an environment families love, this role is for you!

Position Overview

The Kids Ministry Coordinator owns the weekly readiness, health, and execution of our 252 elementary environment on Sunday mornings. You will prepare volunteers, organize curriculum and supplies, maintain clear communication, and ensure Sunday mornings run smoothly so kids can build real relationships and learn to trust God.

Working closely with the Executive Pastor and Hampstead campus staff, you will help build a welcoming, safe, and relational environment aligned with Crossroads’ vision and ministry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Craft an Irresistible Sunday Experience

  • Create Great Environments:
Ensure 252 classrooms are clean, organized, stocked, and ready well before Sunday services begin.
  • Deliver Engaging Programming:
Organize and execute weekly curriculum, Bible teaching, activities, games, and small group discussions that help kids learn to trust God, make wise choices, and love others.
  • Maintain Safety & Security:
Consistently enforce child safety policies, check-in/check-out procedures, allergy awareness, and wellness standards so families know their children are completely secure.

2. Recruit, Equip & Support Volunteer Teams

  • Build a Thriving Team:
Proactively recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers who love kids and represent Crossroads well.
  • Support & Encourage Leaders:
Build genuine relationships with your team so they feel known, appreciated, and equipped to lead relational small groups.
  • Develop Room Leaders:
Identify volunteer gaps early and cultivate reliable room leaders who take ownership within the 252 environment.

3. Build Relationships with Kids & Partner with Families

  • Connect Relationally:
Create small group moments where elementary kids are known personally, cared for, and encouraged in their faith journey.
  • Partner with Parents:
Be a warm, approachable presence for parents—building trust, communicating updates, addressing care needs, and equipping them to continue faith conversations at home.
  • Support Next Steps:
Help guide kids through key faith milestones, including coordinating the transition of 5th graders into our Middle School Ministry.

4. Operational Excellence & Systems

  • Plan Ahead:
Maintain clear weekly prep systems by Thursday so Sunday mornings are never dependent on last-minute scrambling.
  • Manage Church Database:
Use my Crossroads (CCB) to manage volunteer scheduling, family records, and ministry follow-up accurately.
  • Collaborate & Align:
Work in harmony with campus staff and church‑wide Family Ministry leadership to maintain alignment and high standards.
Who You Are
  • A Growing Follower of Jesus:
You have a personal, vibrant relationship with Christ and a genuine heart for helping kids know Him.
  • Relational & Welcoming:
You love building trust with children, parents, volunteers, and campus staff.
  • Organized & Proactive:
You pay attention to details, follow through consistently, and manage administrative systems without needing constant direction.
