Government Contract Billing Associate (Entry Level)

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 USD Annually
Description
Analytical Services & Materials, Inc. is seeking to hire an entry level trainee to train as a Government Contracts Billing Specialist to support our team.
Compensation decisions are based upon a range of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience and training, and other business and organizational needs.
Responsibilities
Execution of the full billing cycle to ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing and collections.
Revenue recognition and reconciliation.
Support of contract setup, modification entry, and contract maintenance.
Coordinate with Contracts and Project Management to establish new contracts and task orders in DELTEK, ensuring alignment with compliance, billing and reporting requirements.
Work with project managers to ensure the accurate and timely submission of invoices.
Review Job Cost Reports for accuracy
Follow established procedures regarding billing and contract maintenance.
Identify and research invoicing issues such as short paid invoices, and provide resolution, as appropriate.
Assist in managing collection of customer invoices, including contacting customers to resolve delays in processing payment.
Reconcile receivables and ensure correct application of cash receipts
Receive training aimed at supporting the accounting team with month end activities, audits, and other general accounting duties as assigned during downtime between billing cycles
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated learning capability.
High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, with proficiency in Excel.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to receive instruction, follow procedures, and meet established deadlines.
Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree or Greater in a relevant field of study (Accounting, Business or Finance) but will train the right candidate.
